Danielle Barron
Senior Director of Leadership and Development
Danielle joined Rhode Island Education Collective to empower families, youth, and community members to become effective leaders and advocates in education. She is also responsible for the development of grant opportunities that align with the organization’s goals of ensuring that all children have access to high-quality education. After spending the last 18 years in the field of corrections, she hopes to leverage her experience to help reverse the school-to-prison pipeline for children across the state.
During her tenure at the RI Department of Corrections (RIDOC), Danielle worked in various capacities from strategic planning and grant writing to training staff on best practices for corrections, and leading the Recidivism Reduction project, which “seeks to create a sustainable framework to align the Rhode Island Department of Corrections with effective evidence-based practices and strengthen cross-system collaboration statewide.” Most recently, Danielle served as the Chief of the Policy Unit, where she was responsible for managing RIDOC’s hundreds of policies and procedures.
Danielle holds a Master of Public Administration from Roger Williams University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island. She lives in Rhode Island with her family and her dog, Brady.
